July 2015 -- After having spent some years working as investment bankers at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in London, Sameer Rizvi and Iryna Dubylovska repeatedly observed their private equity and hedge fund clients make short-term debt-fuelled investments that need exiting in 3 to 5 years. In reality, Sameer and Iryna learned that most businesses actually needed shareholders that would stick with them for 20+ years instead, making strategic decisions for the long-term rather than the short-term. No investors in the marketplace were willing to invest for such a time period. They were hoping to make fast money returns and get the capital back to the limited partners (LPs), so the next "fund" can be raised. The focus was on collecting fees, rather than on building great businesses.

After much deliberation, Sameer and Iryna concluded that the only way to create an investment empire comparable to Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway in today's market was to invest their own savings into a single business, accrue profits, and then re-invest these profits into more businesses, creating a powerful
compounding effect that results in long-term capital appreciation and value creation.

On 28th July 2015, Sameer Rizvi and Iryna Dubylovska formally incorporated their own investment firm, RD Capital Partners LLP ("RDCP").
